What we do
Your Property Appraiser has three primary responsibilities:
- Determine the taxable value of more than 640,000 parcels and nearly 60,000 tangible personal property accounts in Palm Beach County.
- Apply tax exemptions to properties that meet certain qualifications.
- Maintain the county’s official map and property ownership records.

Office Budget – Pursuant to F.S.195.087(6), each property appraiser must post their final approved budget on their website within 30 days of receiving approval from the Florida Department of Revenue.
Who we are
The Property Appraiser’s Office employs more than 200 staff at five service centers throughout Palm Beach County, and has more credentialed appraisal professionals than any other jurisdiction in the United States. More than 67 percent of its employees are Certified Florida Evaluators. There are 38 designees from the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), 12 from the Appraisal Institute and 40 Florida State licensed appraisers. The office is also a recipient of the distinguished IAAO Public Information Program Award, in recognition of its successful public education initiatives.
